As counselors we look forward to addressing the needs of the students here at Jensen Elementary. The FISH! philosophy has been integrated along with Rigor, Relevance, and Relationships into the counseling curriculum; it is being implemented, utilized by all Jensen FISH! staff and students. The FISH! philosophy promotes teamwork, encouragement and a road map to success. We like to call ourselves the FISH! scientists because through our classes we incorporate science vocabulary to enrich the FISH! students. Our emphasis is to provide the students with guidance to ensure they acquire the necessary skills to succeed and have a positive experience here at shool and at home.

 

In order for the students to acquire success they must feel successful and feel good about themselves. Our ultimate goal is to reduce obstacles and situations that hinder the students' learning.

 

We strongly believe that all students can achieve if they believe in themselves and incorporate assets established by the Jensen family. We will also instill the following Value Codes into our lessons throughout the year. The codes are Honesty, Respect, Responsibility, Self-Control, Hard Work, Self-Respect, Concern for Others, Tolerance, Cooperation, Fairness, Forgiveness, Courage, and Self-Knowledge.
