100% - NO Excuses
Ruben Hinojosa Elementary considers good attendance and punctuality necessary training for all students. The establishment of good habits relative to these items may be greatly beneficial to the student in later life. Students with perfect attendance will be rewarded at the end of each six weeks with a celebration. Students who have perfect attendance for the entire school year will receive a trophy at the end of the year.
Absences
If a student is absent from class, he or she should do one of the following within two days of returning to school:
- Bring a note/doctor's note to the attendance office from a parent or guardian stating the date(s) of the absence(s) and the reason(s) for the absence.
Have his or her parent or guardian call the attendance office and give the date(s) of the absence(s) and the reason(s) for the absence.
A student shall not be released from school other than regular dismissal hours except with the principal's permission. Permission can be obtained at the office. On TAKS testing days early release permission is not permitted.
If a student is tardy 3 times, it equals to 1 unexcused absence.
