Sharyland ISD is proud to offer a comprehensive Advanced Placement (AP) program designed to expand academic opportunities for all students. AP courses allow high school students to experience college-level curriculum, build strong academic skills, and earn college credit while still in high school.
Benefits of AP Courses:
-
College Credit & Cost Savings: Students who earn qualifying scores on AP exams may receive college credit, saving on tuition and reducing the time needed to complete a degree.
-
Sharyland ISD supports student access by paying the cost of AP exams for students enrolled in the corresponding AP course during the school year.
-
College Readiness: AP students are better prepared for the academic expectations of college. They learn how to analyze information, write effectively, and study independently.
-
Academic Confidence & Leadership: Students in AP courses develop the confidence to take on challenges, advocate for themselves, and persist through rigorous work.
