All work-related injuries or illnesses must be reported to an employee's supervisor and Human Resources within 24 hours even if the employee does not seek medical treatment.
If your injury requires medical treatment, a specialized adjuster from Sharyland ISD's Workers' Compensation provider, TRISTAR, will work on gathering information and additional details needed to determine the eligibility of the claim and benefits.

What is Workers' Compensation
Workers’ Compensation is a state-regulated, no fault insurance program that provides employees with income and medical benefits if they sustain a work-related injury or illness. Workers' Compensation benefits do not pay for injuries that are intentional, self-inflicted, or result from horseplay, drug or alcohol intoxication, off-duty recreation, social or sports event, or "acts of God".
Workers' Compensation Claims
If your claim is accepted, a TRISTAR specialized adjuster, who is your claim partner, will be assigned to help you through the process. Your adjuster will also contact you and let you know what to expect in the coming days and gather any additional information to make sure you get the medical care and benefits you need.
