Welcome to Sharyland ISD!
Inter-district transfer applications are available through Sharyland ISD’s Enrollment page. The Superintendent or designee will evaluate each application in accordance with Board Policy FDA (Local), developed Administrative Regulations, and current and projected campus and grade level capacity. Approval is not guaranteed for subsequent years and is contingent upon available space and the student’s adherence to transfer agreement standards. Families interested in applying for district transfers are encouraged to review the information below carefully.
Applications for intra-district transfers (Special Permissions) will open concurrently with district registration. The intra-district transfer application window deadline for the 2026-2027 School Year is on 05/25. The application can be attained by requesting it directly from your zoned campus.
A transfer committee will consider the following when approving Special Permission requests:
- Safety Transfer - Texas Education Code 37.0832
- Peace Officer Requests - HB-1959
- Continuing Enrollment
- Family Member Resident of Requested Campus Zone providing after school care.
- Parent’s primary place of employment is located within the requested campus zone.
- Siblings of Special Education students placed at a different campus via ARD.
- Identified neighborhoods south of Griffin Parkway zoned to the North feeder pattern - South of 495, between Shary Rd. and Stewart Rd.
Supporting documentation for all criteria must accompany the transfer application.
New enrollments to the district or students who have change of residency within the district may request a transfer outside the Spring registration transfer window.
Special Permission requests outside the registration transfer window will be considered for extenuating circumstances.
Transportation for district transfers will not be provided.
