School Trustee Election May 3, 2025
Current state law requires a candidate for trustee of an independent school district to be a qualified voter by the time required as prescribed by Election Code Section 141.001. An Application for Place on the Ballot (PDF) must be filed with the Elections Administrator located at the Sharyland ISD Administration, 1200 North Shary Road, Mission, Texas 78572.
Internet Posting Requirements for Political Subdivisions
School Board Election will take place on Saturday, May 3, 2025 for three (3) trustees.
The terms of the existing trustees, Hector Rivera, Dr. Noe Oliveira, and David Keith will
expire in May 2025.
Therefore, at- large trustee positions, place 5, place 6, and place 7 will be up for election.
First day to apply for a place on the ballot will be Wednesday, January 15th, 2025.
Deadline to file application for place on ballot will be Friday, February 14th 2025 at 5:00 p.m.
Packets will be available online and with Selinda Anzaldua at the Administration office.
Terms and Election Schedule
Board members shall be elected for three-year terms, with elections conducted annually, as follows:
Places 1 and 2
The election for places 1 and 2 shall be held in 2026, 2029 and 2031 in three-year intervals thereafter.
Places 3 and 4
The election for places 3 and 4 shall be held in 2027, 2030, 2032 and in three-year intervals thereafter.
Places 5, 6, and 7
The election for places 5, 6, and 7 shall be held in 2025, 2028, 2033 and in three-year intervals thereafter.
